Career Advising

We are your “one stop shop” for information on jobs and internships. Undecided on what you want to do after graduation? Need help with a resume or cover letter? Visit the Career Center and start getting the right answers!

Walk-in Advising: If you just have a few quick questions, visit the Career Center from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Bring your resume, cover letter, and any career related questions.

Same-Day Appointments: If you have immediate career concerns or needs, you can also schedule a 30-minute same-day appointment with a career advisor. To schedule an appointment, call the Career Center at (213) 740-9111 between 8:30 – 10:00 am, Monday through Friday. Only a limited number of same day appointments are available each day.

Looking for that perfect Internship?

The Career Center staff conducts internship programs and workshops throughout the academic year. We provide one-on-one student consultations by appointment and walk-in advisement sessions. USC is proud to provide you with another resource to finding that next internship! In addition to connectSC, you can now access the iNet Internship Consortium — an internship database with a wide array of opportunities and locations.

Important Note About Social Networking Sites

Do you use Facebook, MySpace, Live Journal or any other social networking sites? We recognize that they can all be very useful and entertaining tools, but there are some caveats.

Many employers now use these sites as part of their employment screening process, and any information you put up on your public (or even private) profile might have an impact on your job search. Once posted, that information can also stick around long after you delete it.

Take a moment to look at your site from the point of view of an employer. Are there things on there that you wouldn’t have on your resume, or disclose in an interview? Now may be the time to make some updates.

If you have any questions, please come by our office.

Students must show their USCard in order to access any Career Center services or programs, including (but not limited to) career and internship advising, resume reviews, career workshops, and recruitment events.   Please be prepared to show or swipe your USCard upon checking in at the Career Center front desk or any Career Center-related programs.
